Star Anise Whole

Star Anise is not to be confused with Anise Seed. Both have a similar anise taste, but star anise has a more pungent, clove and liquorice-like flavour.

Star Anise is often used in Asian marinades and to add flavour to stewed compotes of fruit when placed in whole during cooking.
