White Tamari (Shiro Tamari)

This high-quality Shiro (White) Tamari is made using locally grown wheat, Japanese sea salt, mountain spring water and koji. In essence, white tamari is a soy-free soy sauce (it is the fermented soy beans that make "dark" soy sauce dark).

The nose is malty, with koji and white miso notes, which perfectly highlights it's sweet, salty and strong umami flavour.

This is an excellent seasoning for soups, stews, hot pots and rice dishes.
